Michael Tinker Tierney is a multi-faceted performer who has proven, through a variety of projects, to be a lasting success. Whether it be as a solo acoustic and voice act, member of Irish American acts Reilly and Tinker Boys, or as a poet, Michael’s abilities are notable in a wide array of live or published performances. Shows may consist of original and cover material, traditional Irish, folk rock classics, early American music, and general requests. Based out of Milwaukee, Michael’s solo shows and band projects have been seen regularly by audiences throughout Wisconsin and in several other Midwestern states.

Since Michael began performing, he has had played various show settings with acts such as Seven Nations, Gaelic Storm, The Barra McNeils, The Prodigals, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Verve Pipe, Tony Brown, Die Kreuzen, King’s X, The Gufs, Luka Bloom, The Bridies, Citizen King, and Sammy Llanas of the BoDeans. When not touring the United States or Europe in other rock-based musical projects, he plays the most intimate of quarters, corporate and dinner settings, personal events such as weddings and retirements, innumerable pub locales, medium to large rock and college campuses, and outdoor festivals.

As the sense of community is important to him, benefit shows Michael has played include several for Camp Heartland, The Milwaukee Hurling Club, The Irish Immigrant Society, The American Cancer Society, The Milwaukee Hunger Task Force, The School Sisters of St. Francis, The Milwaukee High School of the Arts, anti-violence campaigns, and many performances in nursing facilities and grade schools. He is a current member of the Wisconsin Area Music Industry and the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin—Milwaukee Chapter.

Michael has recent and past experience playing in projects seen at large productions such as Summerfest, Irish Fest, Bradley Center sports events, St. Patrick’s weekend festivities, Milwaukee Westown Association activities, Pridefest, River Rhythms, Harley Fest, Farmer’s Markets, Bastille Days, and summer church festivals. He has also played
for area events such as Harbor Fest and Sidewalk Days in Racine, Gaelic Fest in Waukesha, Maritime Heritage Festival and Christmas in Port Washington, Festive Friday Eves in Cedarburg, and Earth Day in Oshkosh. His ability to play with other artists of scattered backgrounds in a wide assortment of showcases, including past Wisconsin Area Music Industry awards shows, makes Tinker an option for dates of all sorts.
