Melissa Cox

Melissa uses her looping pedal like a DJ's desk, she layers tin whistle, electric mandolin, piano, synths, drum beats, and her haunting voice to create performances reminiscent of Enigma, Enya, and Loreena McKennitt. A seasoned touring artist and classically trained vocalist, she pushes Celtic and World music into the 21st century with raw energy and fearless, honest lyrics.

In June 2024, Melissa's 2024 album MATRIOTISM was the 14th most played album on the syndicated ambient/electronic radio show Echoes (echoes.org), playing on over 150 radio stations across the United States. When she is not touring, she operates a boutique recording studio for emerging artists and coaches the next generation of vocalists.  Melissa performs solo, or as a duet with Erin Flynn (violin, bodhran, vocals, tin whistle)

For two decades, Melissa has broken down the barriers of Celtic music as a soloist and lead singer of the Celtic fusion band Mythica, defying categorization as she fuses Irish and Scottish influences and instrumentation with trip hop, world beat, bluegrass, and rock.
